Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Violations totaling 1.7 trillion soums were identified in the public procurement sector during the first quarter, according to a report by the Accounts Chamber.
During the reporting period, 24 audit activities were conducted based on a risk-based work plan — 10 on-site and 14 remotely.
On the revenue side, additional sources of taxes and mandatory payments totaling 4.8 trillion soums were identified. Measures to recover these funds are already being taken in cooperation with the Tax Committee.
In terms of expenditures, 5.7 trillion soums were optimized, financial errors and shortcomings amounting to 132.5 billion soums were detected, and illegal expenditures worth 50 billion soums were prevented. Each ministry and agency is working individually to eliminate the identified violations.
In the area of public procurement, violations of legislation amounting to 1.7 trillion soums were recorded. Measures have been taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
As a result of the inspections, 11 orders and 61 directives were sent to the relevant authorities.
The Accounts Chamber’s Remote Monitoring Center eliminated deficiencies amounting to 753 billion soums across 1,500 cases, including the early prevention of potential violations worth 718 billion soums in 281 instances.
Additionally, an analysis of financial risks totaling 1.3 trillion soums is being carried out across 4,700 cases.
