Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Fourth-grade students from School No. 60 in Tashkent took part in an educational tour of the Korzinka Oybek supermarket, where they learned about healthy eating and responsible consumption through practical activities.
The event was organized by Nestlé together with Korzinka supermarket chain and the Republican Education Center as part of the Routes of Health school programme.
The tour continued the educational modules that students study within the programme. During the supermarket visit, the children applied their knowledge in a real-life setting and learned more about making informed food choices.
The students explored different food categories, learned what to consider when choosing products, and practiced finding information on packaging and better understanding the components of a balanced diet.
Korzinka experts used an interactive format to explain how daily eating habits are formed and their role in maintaining health.
A separate part of the tour focused on environmental practices. The children learned about the separate collection of certain types of waste at the chain’s stores, including paper and plastic, which are collected separately for subsequent recycling. The students learned why different types of waste should be separated and how sorting can help reduce the amount of waste and facilitate the reuse of materials.
Following the tour, participants gained practical knowledge that they can apply when choosing food products and developing everyday eating habits. At the end of the event, the schoolchildren received commemorative gifts and took a group photo.
The Routes of Health programme is being implemented in Uzbekistan as part of the global Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative under the general and methodological guidance of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan. It is designed for children aged 7–8 and is included in the core Natural Sciences curriculum.
Routes of Health is an updated version of a school programme that was implemented in schools across Uzbekistan with Nestlé’s support from 2013 to 2018.
