Where learning begins: WIUT meets first-graders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The end of August and beginning of September for Uzbekistan is marked with two special events – Independence Day of Uzbekistan and the beginning of school.

On the occasion of the latter, Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) organized a special meeting with children of its staff who are about to start their school. Held annually, this year’s event saw increase in number of children: 19 first-graders.

During the event children engaged in various competitions, games and other activities. They read poems in different languages and were awarded with interesting books. Other presents included special school-bags for boys and girls, full of stationery and other school necessities.

WIUT believes that promotion of knowledge and learning, which is an integral part of building a better future, should start from school.
