Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekneftegaz is implementing a project to reduce methane emissions from fields. The company’s press service said in a statement.

In November of this year, as part of this project, which is carried out jointly with the Swiss company Vema S.A., work was carried out to assess methane emissions at the Kukdumalok, Zewarda, Alan and Pomuk fields, subordinate to the Mubarek Oil and Gas Production Department.

During these works, studies and monitoring of equipment used at the installations were carried out, and recommendations and conclusions were provided to eliminate detected cases of methane emission leaks.

It is planned to continue cooperation with foreign partners to implement measures to reduce methane emissions at all production enterprises operated by the company.
