Uzbekistan’s medical industry produces goods for 112.4bn soums in 1Q

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan produced medical products for 112.4 billion soums in the first quarter of 2014, which rose by 17.7% year-on-year, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

During the reporting period, the large industrial enterprises in the industry increased production of medicaments containing penicillins or their derivatives, with a penicillanic acid structure or containing streptomycin or their derivatives by 14.8%; provitamin, vitamins and their derivatives - 5.4 times; medicaments containing other antibiotics, packaged for retail sale, - 2.6 times.

At the same time, the country increased production of absorbent cotton, gauze and similar materials impregnated or coated with pharmaceutical substances or packaged for retail sale by 2.6 times.
