Uzbekistan and Qatar Hold Talks on Afghanistan Agenda
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, has held a meeting with Hassan Hamza Hashim, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan. The parties discussed issues regarding bilateral cooperation in the context of promoting the sustainable development of Afghanistan.
During the negotiations, which took place on 30 June 2026, special attention was paid to the prospects for developing trade and economic, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian interaction.
The Qatari side highly praised the consistent efforts of Uzbekistan aimed at supporting the socio-economic recovery of Afghanistan, and emphasized the significance of the constructive role of Tashkent in promoting regional stability and development.
Following the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Uzbek-Qatari partnership, expanding practical interaction on regional issues, and maintaining a regular constructive dialogue on the Afghanistan agenda.
