Uzbekistan Paper Production Rises 17 Percent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The pulp and paper industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan is demonstrating a steady upward dynamic and a noticeable growth in production volumes.

According to official data from the National Committee on Statistics, large industrial enterprises in the country produced paper and various paper products totaling 3 trillion soums between January and April 2026.

Compared to the same four-month period of the previous year, industrial production volumes in this sector increased by 17.3%, indicating an active expansion of capacities and a growth in domestic demand.

In terms of territorial distribution, the capital acts as the key locomotive and absolute leader of the industry. Industrial facilities in Tashkent ensured the manufacture of products worth 1.3 trillion soums, which accounts for more than a third of the total national figure.

The second line in the regional ranking is firmly held by the Tashkent Region, where large enterprises manufactured paper products worth 849.6 billion soums. Thus, the capital region accounts for the predominant share of all pulp and paper products manufactured in the country.

A notable contribution to the sectoral statistics is also made by the regions of the Ferghana Valley and the central part of the republic. Production volume in the Andijan Region was recorded at 241.4 billion soums, in the Samarkand Region at 180.4 billion soums, and in the Ferghana Region at 159.7 billion soums. Following these in terms of industrial activity are the Khorezm Region (94.5 billion soums) and the Namangan Region (84.9 billion soums).

In the remaining regions of the country, the indicators were distributed more moderately. Large manufacturers in the Bukhara Region released products worth 55.4 billion soums, the Jizzakh Region produced 44.7 billion soums, and the Kashkadarya Region accounted for 15.3 billion soums.

Closing the national list are the Syrdarya Region (11.9 billion soums), the Navoiy Region (11.5 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.9 billion soums), and the Surxondarya Region, where the production volume amounted to 1.5 billion soums.

The demonstrated results confirm the course toward the localization of consumer goods and the consistent industrial development of the regions.
