Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov has held talks with Ming Zhang, Global Director for Urban Development, Tourism and Disaster Risk Management at the World Bank Group, to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed opportunities for developing Uzbekistan’s tourism industry, strengthening the economic potential of regions, and building sustainable tourism infrastructure across the country.

It was noted that the implementation of tourism development goals outlined in the Uzbekistan 2030 strategy is approaching completion. The World Bank expressed readiness to support a number of projects, drawing on international experience and expert resources.

The parties also exchanged views on the significance of the Central Asia Tourism Ring project, which was initiated by the President of Uzbekistan.
