Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives from the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Economy of Uzbekistan participated in an expert round table organized jointly with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) to discuss improving state housing policy through modern approaches.

During the round table, participants reviewed the preliminary results of the "Samarkand Housing Profile" pilot project analysis, which is being developed with the support of UN-Habitat.

The discussions focused on housing construction development, assessing population housing needs, improving construction quality, and implementing green building and energy efficiency principles. Participants also addressed housing affordability, the preservation and effective management of the existing housing stock, sustainable urban development, and the rational use of land resources.

Ministry representatives presented practical proposals and sector expertise, emphasizing the need to further improve housing policy through evidence-based analysis, comprehensive territorial development, and the creation of quality, affordable housing for the population.

Following the discussions, participants noted the importance of further developing cooperation with international partners to improve housing policy and ensure sustainable urban development.
