Uzbekistan, Georgia expand pharmaceutical cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan led by Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with the leadership of the State Agency for Regulation of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities of Georgia during a visit to the country.

The two sides discussed prospects for the further development of cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.

The negotiations focused on increasing the volume of Uzbek pharmaceutical exports to the Georgian market, as well as eliminating existing barriers encountered during the supply of medicinal products.

Representatives of domestic pharmaceutical enterprises also participated in the meeting. They raised practical issues related to the state registration of medicines in Georgia and presented proposals to improve the relevant procedures.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue practical interaction aimed at strengthening cooperation in the pharmaceutical sphere, expanding export potential, and creating more favorable conditions for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
