Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will reconstruct a 100-kilometre section of the A-380 highway in Kashkadarya Region in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank, in a project valued at US$350 million.
The project was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on the region’s socioeconomic development, the presidential press secretary reported.
The Karshi bypass will be extended by 5.5 kilometres and connected to the highway. Officials have been instructed to complete the feasibility study by the end of this year and begin construction in January 2027.
The region also plans to address traffic congestion at railway crossings.
Long queues form when trains pass along the Karshi–Pamuk and Guzar–Beyneu roads. Two modern overpasses will be built at these locations at a combined cost of 250 billion soums.
