Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan had harvested 4.63 million tonnes of cotton as of 22 October 2026, reaching 103% of its planned target, the Ministry of Agriculture reported. Of the total, 3,515,597 tonnes were picked using nearly 3,000 modern cotton harvesters.

The average mechanisation rate for cotton harvesting nationwide reached 76%, with regional figures ranging from 61% to 98.5%.

Jizzakh Region recorded the highest rate, with machines harvesting 98.5% of its cotton crop. The figure stood at 94.2% in Syrdarya Region and 81.2% in Tashkent Region.

Cotton harvesting is continuing across the country. The first picking is under way on an area of more than 49,000 hectares. The ministry said particular attention is being paid to preventing crop losses.

The ministry attributed the season’s results to the implementation of priorities set by the president for agricultural development, the introduction of modern farming technologies and the application of scientific advances.

Practical seminars were also held throughout the year in cotton-growing fields across all regions, while scientific recommendations and best practices developed by cotton researchers were introduced into production.
