Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A modern veterinary clinic has opened in Uzbekistan’s Andijan Region with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The facility is equipped with diagnostic and treatment equipment and is designed to accommodate 10 qualified specialists, the Committee for Food Safety of Uzbekistan reported.

The clinic was established as part of a project to diversify and modernise agriculture. At the opening ceremony, representatives of the Andijan Regional Department of the Committee for Food Safety highlighted the importance of expanding veterinary services, modernising infrastructure and improving animal health protection systems.

The new facility provides conditions for veterinary examinations, disease diagnosis, treatment and preventive care.

In particular, X-ray and ultrasound equipment will expand specialists’ diagnostic capabilities and help them select appropriate treatments. The clinic also has dedicated surgical facilities.

Alongside the opening of the permanent facility, a specialised mobile laboratory launched in the region in 2025 continues to operate, helping improve the effectiveness of veterinary inspections and laboratory services.

The mobile laboratory enables staff to collect samples on-site, conduct preliminary animal examinations and carry out rapid laboratory diagnostics.

The development of veterinary infrastructure is intended to improve animal health, support livestock farming and enhance the safety of food products of animal origin.
