Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An expert meeting of representatives of member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Astana on 14 October to coordinate documents on regional transport cooperation.

The main topics were draft Astana Declaration and the ECO Transport Strategy for 2026–2035.

The documents aim to strengthen cooperation among member states, improve regional transport connectivity and increase the efficiency of international freight operations.

The meeting took place ahead of the 14th meeting of transport ministers from ECO member states.

Participants exchanged views on priorities for developing the region’s transport and logistics system, improving international transport corridors and removing infrastructure and administrative barriers.

Particular attention was given to creating conditions for the freer movement of goods between member states.

The coordination of these strategic documents is intended to establish the future direction of transport cooperation over the coming decade.
