Uzbekistan, South Korea Discuss Investment Expansion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 April in Washington, on the sidelines of the Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, a meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov and South Korea’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yun-cheol.

The two sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, noting steady growth in mutual trade in recent years.

During the talks, the officials discussed macroeconomic stability, support for economic growth, and ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan. Special attention was given to the digitalization of public financial management systems and the implementation of Korean solutions dBrain+ and e-Hojo.

The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in semiconductor manufacturing, human capital development, joint industrial projects, and the introduction of innovative technologies.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen investment ties between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
