Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The retail price of liquefied petroleum gas for households in Uzbekistan will be set at 5,000 soums per kilogram, including VAT, from 15 November under new government regulations introducing market-based mechanisms and targeted financial support for low-income families.

The Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 602 on 31 October 2026, establishing the new rules for supplying liquefied gas to households.

To ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies, a specialised company, LPG-Trade, has been established with Hududgazta’minot JSC as its founder. The maximum charge for the company’s gas delivery services has been set at 1,300 soums per kilogram, including VAT.

The operator will receive subsidies from the state budget to cover the difference between the actual market price of liquefied gas and the fixed retail price for households.

By 1 May 2027, the government plans to analyse the market and prepare proposals for further liberalisation of liquefied gas prices.

The resolution also provides for targeted financial assistance to low-income households until 1 January 2030.

Eligible recipients will include families listed in the Social Register, as well as households not included in the register whose per capita income does not exceed twice the minimum consumer spending level, set at 1.43 million soums. Families raising orphans and children left without parental care will also qualify for support.

The compensation will amount to 3,000 soums for each kilogram of liquefied gas purchased, covering a maximum of 20 kg per household per month. This means the maximum monthly payment will be 60,000 soums.

The funds will be transferred directly to the recipient’s social card once the gas purchase has been verified.

The resolution also sets out rules for supplying gas cylinders to several families living in the same house or apartment registered under a single cadastral number. Each family may receive its own cylinders if it has a separate or shared kitchen equipped with a gas stove.

The arrangement requires an on-site inspection and an official report drawn up with the participation of representatives of the mahalla’s seven-member community structure and gas service employees.

The Competition Development Committee has also been instructed to monitor trading on commodity exchanges to prevent artificial increases in liquefied gas prices.
