Uzbekistan, Russia discuss deepening strategic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov on 18 December 2012, the press service of the Uzbek ministry said.

The sides considered issues on implementation agreements, indicated in declaration on deepening strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia, signed by heads of two states in Tashkent in June 2012.

The sides discussed perspectives of further development of interaction in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as actual and regional problems.

After the negotiations, the sides signed a programme on cooperation between ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and Russia for 2013.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenov attended the meeting.
