Uzbekistan receives US$49.9m grant to develop education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan received a grant for US$49.9 million to develop education sector, the Head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan Krista Pikkat said.

Krista Pikkat has said that Uzbekistan received US$49.9 million grant within the framework of Global Partnership for Education (GPE) is to support the education sector in Uzbekistan.

The grant will further improve this sector, in particular, will improve the quality of pre-school education and a teaching process at secondary schools.

It will also help to improve monitoring of education system and three priority directions, determined in education sector plan, approved in 2013, she said.
