Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a delegation from the city of Qingdao in China’s Shandong province, the chamber reported. The talks were led by Deputy Chairman Odilkhon Rustamov.

During the discussions, the sides reviewed opportunities to expand trade and economic ties between Uzbek enterprises and Qingdao, as well as prospects for increasing the number of joint investment projects.

Special attention was given to identifying priority areas of cooperation, including construction and engineering design, building materials production, transport and logistics, metallurgy, agriculture, and the food industry.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening practical cooperation between business communities in Uzbekistan and China and expanding direct contacts between entrepreneurs.

It was noted that cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative remains of strategic importance, contributing to infrastructure development, growth in trade turnover, and increased investment inflows.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to move forward with the practical implementation of the agreements and to prepare concrete investment projects.
