Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has prepared 128 oil and gas blocks in various regions of the country to offer to foreign investors. Their estimated resources amount to 5.8 trillion cubic metres of gas and 560 million tonnes of liquid hydrocarbons, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during an open dialogue with investors on Friday.
According to the president, cooperation in the oil and gas sector is expanding in geological exploration, improving the efficiency of existing fields and deep processing of raw materials.
Geological exploration is currently underway at six investment blocks in the Ustyurt region with the participation of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and British company BP. Another 128 blocks in other regions of the country have been prepared for potential foreign partners.
Mirziyoyev stressed that competition, transparency and economic efficiency should be the key criteria for developing these opportunities.
