Uzbekistan increases coal extraction by 5.8% in January

Uzbekistan increased coal extraction by 5.8% year-on-year to 318,700 tonnes in January 2010.
Open-cast coal mining rose by 6% year-on-year to 306,900 tonnes and shaft coal mining decreased by 10.6% year-on-year to 11,800 tonnes.
Uzbekistan increased brown coal by 5.5% year-on-year to 314,400 tonnes and coal output decreased by 8.5% to 4,300 tonnes.
Uzbekistan extracted 3.654 million tonnes of coal in 2009, which is 1.4% more year-on-year.
