Uzbekistan Human Rights Centre, TSUL sign cooperation deal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s National Human Rights Centre and Tashkent State University of Law have signed a memorandum of cooperation to strengthen joint work in human rights, legal education and research.
The signing ceremony was held at the House of Human Rights in Tashkent. The document was signed by National Human Rights Centre Director and Academician Akmal Saidov and Tashkent State University of Law Rector Professor Bakhshillo Khodjaev.
The memorandum aims to take cooperation between the two organizations to a new level in protecting human rights and freedoms, developing legal education and research, studying advanced national and international experience, and strengthening the professional skills of young lawyers.
Under the memorandum, the parties plan to implement joint research projects in human rights, hold conferences, seminars, round tables and training sessions, organize educational and public outreach events involving experts and academics, and develop students’ practical skills through joint initiatives.
Particular attention will be given to improving educational content on human rights, introducing modern teaching methods, and studying national legislation alongside international standards.
The parties said combining the National Human Rights Centre’s research and expert capacity with the university’s educational capabilities would provide a basis for new joint projects and help strengthen links between legal education and practice.
They also plan to expand the exchange of experience in national and international human rights mechanisms, academic cooperation and efforts to improve young people’s legal awareness.
