Uzbekistan Electricity Generation Rises 7.1% in First Half

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan produced 45.45 billion kWh of electricity in January–June 2026, which is 7.1% more compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Energy announced.

According to the ministry, the generation volume reached 45 billion 451.8 million kWh during the six-month period, increasing by 2 billion 995.3 million kWh compared to the first half of 2025.

Electricity consumption during the same period amounted to 44 billion 42.9 million kWh. Compared to the corresponding period last year, the figure grew by 2 billion kWh, or 4.7%.

Electricity production also demonstrated accelerated growth in June. During the month, 7 billion 751.1 million kWh was generated in the country, which exceeds the figure from June of last year by 921.1 million kWh, or 13.5%.

Electricity consumption in June reached 7 billion 707.9 million kWh. This is 609.6 million kWh, or 8.6%, more than in the same month of 2025.
