Central Asian Railroads Discuss Freight Digitalization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of the railroad administrations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan held a working meeting in Astana dedicated to the digital transformation of the industry and the introduction of modern IT solutions in freight process management.

The event took place on 8–9 July 2026 with the participation of IT departments from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari, Kyrgyzstan Temir Zholu, and the Latvian company SIGIS.

During the meeting, SIGIS presented its digital solutions for the railroad industry.

The participants exchanged experiences regarding the replacement of the Automated System for Operational Management of Freight Transportation (ASOUP-2). They also reviewed software products and best practices that could be utilized in the digitalization of the freight process and related areas of activity for Oʻzbekiston Temir Yoʻllari.

Special attention was paid to proposals for introducing digital management systems for the wagon fleet of the Kaztemirtrans enterprise. Specifically, a solution developed by Multicode was discussed.

Following the meeting, the participants noted the significance of such consultations for exchanging experience and strengthening regional cooperation among the railroad administrations of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan in the field of digital transformation of the transport industry.
