Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement held an online meeting with entrepreneurs to discuss expanding industrial cooperation around major metallurgical enterprises and developing new localization projects.

The meeting focused on cooperation projects worth a total of US$100 million involving major metallurgical enterprises Aziya metall prof in Samarkand Region, Sifatli sof po‘lat in Jizzakh Region, Tay Chang Stil in Namangan Region and Vangda in Syrdarya Region, the Agency for Industrial Cooperation and Public Procurement reported.

Particular attention was paid to matching the enterprises’ demand for raw materials, materials, components, equipment and services with the production capabilities of local entrepreneurs. Participants also considered proposals to localize products currently imported and establish new cooperation chains.

The participants reviewed existing production capacities of entrepreneurs and prospective project initiatives.

Following the meeting, further practical measures were identified to involve businesses in long-term industrial cooperation with major metallurgical enterprises.

The projects are aimed at expanding local production, developing import-substituting products, creating new value-added chains and generating additional jobs in the regions.
