Uzbekistan Discusses GovTech and Digital Government with HAUS and ESTDEV

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a joint meeting with representatives of the Finnish Institute of Public Management HAUS and the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV).

The sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the digitalization of public services and the development of integrated e-government systems.

Central topics of the talks included secure data exchange, digital identification, and the development of a GovTech ecosystem aimed at improving the efficiency of public administration.

Particular attention was given to accelerating the digital transformation of the public sector, simplifying citizens’ access to government services, and expanding digital service offerings.

Representatives of HAUS and ESTDEV presented their experience in implementing international digital transformation projects in European Union countries, including e-government development, data governance, and innovation ecosystems.

The parties also discussed prospects for introducing artificial intelligence into public services, improving digital literacy among the population, and expanding cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

The Uzbek side emphasized that the national artificial intelligence development strategy is aimed at improving the quality of citizen-focused public services and advancing the country’s digital economy.
