Uzbekistan Delegation Attends IPU Assembly in Istanbul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of the Parliament of Uzbekistan led by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva is participating in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which is being held in Istanbul.

The central theme of this year’s assembly is “Strengthening trust, ensuring sustainable peace and justice for future generations.”

The agenda includes discussions on global issues related to the development of international cooperation and the strengthening of parliamentary diplomacy.

The visit programme provides for the participation of the Uzbek delegation in a number of thematic platforms and dialogues, including the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, the Fifth Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Forum of Young Parliamentarians.

In addition, bilateral meetings are scheduled between representatives of Uzbekistan and international partners aimed at further developing interparliamentary cooperation and strengthening global ties.
