Uzbekistan, China Discuss Copper Foil Production Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Negotiations were held in Beijing on a prospective copper foil production project involving Mirziyod Yunusov, Chairman of the “Uzelt ehsanoat” Association, and Dr. Feng Qing, General Director of the Chinese company Taijin New Energy Technology. The talks focused on the possible establishment of a joint production facility in Uzbekistan.

The discussions centered on the growing global demand for materials used in green energy technologies, electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems, as well as microelectronics and the semiconductor industry.

It was noted that these global trends are driving a steady increase in demand for copper foil as one of the key industrial materials.

Taijin New Energy Technology was presented as a modern Chinese enterprise specializing in copper foil production with established technological and manufacturing capabilities.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of technological partnership and the prospects for localization of production in Uzbekistan.

Particular attention was paid to technology transfer and the possible establishment of joint manufacturing capacities.

Following the negotiations, both sides expressed mutual interest in further developing the project and expanding industrial cooperation in high-tech segments of the electrical engineering and energy sectors.
