Uzbekistan Chess Federation Launches Campaign for Olympiad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan Chess Federation has announced the launch of a nationwide digital campaign, "Support Team Uzbekistan – Make Your Move!", on the international chess platform idChess.

The initiative was launched to coincide with International Chess Day and preparations for the World Chess Olympiad, which will take place in Samarkand for the first time from 15 to 27 September 2026.

The project aims to involve the country's residents in supporting the national team while uniting sports, business, youth, and digital technologies ahead of the chess event.

As part of the campaign, users will be able to participate in mass online tournaments through the mobile applications of partner companies.

Organizers expect to collect one million played games, each serving as a symbol of support for the national team before and during the Olympiad.

The platform idChess serves as the strategic partner of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation, providing the project's technological infrastructure. Its responsibilities include running online tournaments, broadcasting offline competitions, integrating chess mechanics into digital services of partners, and offering analytical and technical support.

Secretary General of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation Bobur Sattarov noted that chess has become part of the country's cultural code and a symbol of intellectual achievement.

According to Sattarov, the Olympiad in Samarkand offers an opportunity to unite society around the national team, popularize chess, develop digital infrastructure, and involve business representatives in the process.

Founder of idChess and CEO of Friflex Petr Chernyshev stated that the initiative aims to become the region's largest mass digital chess project.

According to Chernyshev, the platform will connect brands and users through chess tournaments, allowing every resident of the country to feel part of the national team.

Organizers stated that the project is open to leading brands and companies in Uzbekistan. Participation in the campaign will allow businesses to support the hosting of the World Chess Olympiad and contribute to the development of chess in the country.
