Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has won its second gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, with Shohsanam Sherzodova taking first place in the women’s 200-meter kayak singles event.
In addition to Sherzodova’s gold medal, Uzbek athletes won six more medals in rowing and canoeing events.
In rowing, Shakhboz Kholmurzaev finished second in the men’s single sculls M1x event to claim a silver medal.
Another silver medal in the men’s double sculls M2x event was won by Mehroj Mamatkulov and Pavel Sorin. The Uzbek crew completed the distance in 6:10.49 to finish second.
In the M2- event, Maksim Golubev and Alisher Turdiev won bronze medals. Their time was 6:32.34.
Silver medals in women’s rowing were won by Anna Aksenova, Maria Sergeyeva, Raykhona Sattorova and Aidana Smetullaeva. The Uzbek crew finished second in the W4- event.
In the women’s 500-meter kayak event, Arina Tanatmisheva and Ekaterina Shubina finished third to win bronze medals.
Another silver medal for Uzbekistan was won by canoeists Artur Guliyev and Vladlen Denisov, who finished second in the 500-meter event.
Thus, Uzbek athletes in these disciplines have won one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.
