Uzbekistan, Belarus Exchange Elevator Safety Supervision Experience
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives from Uzbekistan and Belarus held a working meeting via videoconference on 17 August 2026 to exchange experience regarding elevator safety and state supervision over elevator operation, according to Gospromnadzor.
The event brought together officials from Belarus's Department for Supervision of Industrial Safety (Gospromnadzor) and the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Head of Gospromnadzor Andrey Konchik, alongside Egor Senkevich, chief specialist of the department for safety supervision of lifting structures and amusement rides, and Viktor Yurchik, chief state inspector of the Grodno Regional Department's supervision division. Representatives from the international cooperation department, Tatyana Logutova and Viktoria Alisievich, also participated.
The Uzbek side was represented by Mahamatkhoja Saidazimov, head of the strategic planning and information analytics department and advisor to the chairman of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety, together with Akhror Akramov, chief specialist of the public services department, and Abror Tillaboev, chief specialist of the supervisory and administrative activities department.
During the meeting, Belarusian officials delivered reports on core operational areas. Egor Senkevich presented on the circulation and safe operation of elevator equipment in Belarus, while Viktor Yurchik detailed state supervisory practices over elevator operations.
Participants discussed the specific aspects of state oversight, the legal frameworks governing both regulatory bodies, and practical inspection and preventive measures used during elevator management. The sides noted similarities in their regulatory approaches while reviewing operational challenges and potential solutions.
The meeting was held in accordance with the 2026–2027 Joint Action Plan implementing an agreement between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus and the State Committee for Industrial Safety of Uzbekistan on cooperation in industrial, nuclear, and radiation safety.
