Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and South Korea plan to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics, digital education and e-government. The issues were discussed on 14 October by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and South Korean Ambassador Won Do Yeon.
The meeting also focused on implementing initiatives proposed at the Central Asia–Republic of Korea summit in September, which was attended by the leaders of the participating countries.
The two sides explored opportunities to expand the use of artificial intelligence technologies in Uzbekistan, develop scientific research and development, and involve leading South Korean universities in these efforts.
Preliminary talks are already under way on establishing cooperation with Seoul National University.
In science and technology, the participants also discussed prospects for joint initiatives in robotics and the introduction of artificial intelligence-based solutions in industrial production.
Another area of cooperation will be the development of digital skills among the population, particularly young people.
The sides considered the possibility of using South Korean online courses as part of the Five Million AI Leaders project.
Following the talks, the two sides agreed to continue engaging with relevant organizations and work systematically on advancing the initiatives discussed.
The cooperation is intended to support the development of new projects in digital technologies, science and education.
