Uzbekistan and Meta Discuss Digital Skills Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent between Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and Meta’s Director for Public Policy, Strategy and Campaigns for the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), Beth Ann Lim, to discuss the development of Uzbekistan’s digital economy and expansion of bilateral cooperation.

The discussions focused on initiatives to train young people in modern professions and skills, create new opportunities for professional growth, and develop high value-added jobs in the digital sector.

Meta representatives positively assessed the growth of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem and discussed prospects for supporting innovation, developing local startups, and facilitating their access to international markets.

The sides also reviewed the launch of the Small Business Growth Academy programme, aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. The programme combines Meta’s artificial intelligence-based tools, including Advantage+ and Meta Business Agent, with practical training modules delivered by certified local partner CoobX.

It was noted that the programme is being launched in Uzbekistan for the first time in the APAC region. It aims to develop practical digital and technological skills among entrepreneurs, young people, and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
