Uzbekistan and Italy Expand Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 April, the Chair of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Science, Education and Healthcare, Bahrom Abdullayev, held a meeting with a delegation led by Fabrizio Benzoni, a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Italian Republic and head of the “Italy–Central Asia” inter-parliamentary cooperation group.

During the talks, the sides reviewed the current state and prospects of the Uzbekistan–Italy strategic partnership, with particular attention to strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

The discussions also focused on the exchange of experience in legislative activity and the promotion of mutually beneficial initiatives between the parliaments of the two countries.

The parties put forward proposals for the systematic development of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups, including the regular conduct of dialogue and the development of a joint action plan.

In addition, attention was given to expanding cooperation in the fields of education and science, as well as the development of joint educational programs and research projects.
