Uzbekistan and Germany Discuss Expanding Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Akram Aliyev met with Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Marion Edel on 17 July 2026 to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation.

The sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the fields of trade, investment and technology.

During the meeting, it was noted that bilateral trade increased by 13.2% in 2025, reaching US$1.4 billion. The volume of German investment implemented in Uzbekistan totaled US$6.4 billion.

The participants also discussed preparations for the next round of Uzbek-German intergovernmental negotiations on development cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue practical work aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the agreed areas.
