Uzbekistan and Georgia Elevate Relations to Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze signed a Declaration on establishing strategic partnership relations between the two countries following negotiations in Tbilisi.

A package of bilateral documents covering a wide range of cooperation areas was also exchanged in the presence of the heads of delegations.

In particular, agreements were signed on cooperation and administrative assistance in customs matters, in the field of information and communication technologies and digitalization, as well as in the fields of professional and higher education, science, and innovation.

In addition, the parties approved a Cooperation Programme between the governments of Uzbekistan and Georgia for 2026–2027 and a Cooperation Programme between the ministries of culture of the two countries for 2027–2030.

Memorandums of understanding were also signed between the ministries of economy and finance of the two countries, on cooperation in implementing the E-Permit electronic information exchange system for permits, and in the fields of agriculture, environmental protection, healthcare, radiation protection and nuclear safety, labor migration, and tourism.

A memorandum of cooperation was also signed within the framework of the state visit between the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Bureau of Enforcement of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
