Fake Turkish Passports Seized in Ferghana Operation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The State Security Service, alongside the Department for Combating Economic Crimes and internal affairs agencies, has disrupted the activities of a group suspected of manufacturing and selling counterfeit foreign documents in the Ferghana region.
According to law enforcement agencies, an operation resulted in the detention of a Margilan resident who allegedly acted in collusion with four residents of the city of Ferghana.
The suspects were detained while selling a fake Turkish passport and a driver's license to a client for 4 million soums.
During the investigation, authorities seized 11 mobile phones and two laptops from the detainees, which have been added to the case files as material evidence.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and investigative proceedings are currently underway.
