Uzbekistan and Finland expand digital cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On May 28, 2026, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov, during a working visit to Finland, visited the Finnish Institute of Public Management (HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management) and held talks with its Director Kösti Väikeväinen.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the practical implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan and HAUS, which was signed with the participation of the heads of state during the official visit of Finnish President Alexander Stubb to Uzbekistan from October 29 to November 1, 2025.
The sides reviewed the introduction of Finnish experience into Uzbekistan’s public administration system aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency of public services.
Special attention was given to joint initiatives on integrating artificial intelligence technologies into educational processes, as well as developing the potential of young specialists and supporting IT talent.
The talks also addressed creating conditions for Uzbek startups to enter international markets and expanding cooperation in the field of digital innovation.
Following the meeting, Sherzod Shermatov expressed gratitude to the HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management for nominating Nina Niva as adviser to the Minister of Digital Technologies, noting her potential contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation and joint projects.
In addition, as part of the development of digital education, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between HAUS and the Center for the Development of Digital Education. Under the agreement, the eOppiva educational platform will be integrated into aileaders.uz, providing access to Finnish educational content for users in Uzbekistan.
