Uzbekistan and China Customs Expand Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of the customs authorities of Uzbekistan and China held a working meeting to discuss practical cooperation and further expansion of interaction between the relevant agencies of the two countries.

The talks were attended by K. Kadyrov, the official representative of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan in the People’s Republic of China, and a delegation from China’s General Administration of Customs led by Yu Xiangtao, Deputy Director of a relevant department.

The sides focused on current practical cooperation, exchanged views on relevant customs administration issues and discussed the development of direct working contacts.

Representatives of China’s General Administration of Customs departments responsible for international cooperation, tariff policy and rules of origin, customs statistics, audits, border checkpoints, personnel training, standardisation and technical regulation also took part in the discussions.

The talks covered electronic verification of certificates of origin, processing of customs requests, mutual recognition of authorised economic operator status, exchange of statistical data, development of Single Window systems, as well as training and professional development of specialists.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue discussing the issues raised at the level of relevant departments, establish direct cooperation between responsible officials and gradually expand collaboration in agreed areas.
