Uzbek, Tajik Presidents Discuss Strategic Alliance

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on 24 July 2026 with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of previously reached agreements, and regional agenda issues.

Emomali Rahmon congratulated the Uzbek leader on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness, boundless energy, and new successes in implementing tasks for the country's development.

The President of Tajikistan noted Uzbekistan's achievements in socio-economic development and in strengthening the country's international standing.

During the conversation, the leaders reviewed matters related to the further development of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance.

Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of agreements reached following the state visit of the President of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan, which took place on 26–27 March of this year. Discussions focused primarily on trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The heads of state also exchanged views on current issues on the regional agenda and reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral meetings.
