Uzbek Taekwondo Athlete Wins Gold at World Championships

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek athlete has won the gold medal at the WT Taekwondo World Youth Championships currently being held in Tashkent.

Yosinbek Odilov competed in the under-48 kg weight category and defeated his opponent from Oman in the final bout, securing the highest award of the tournament for Uzbekistan.

The WT Taekwondo World Junior Championships are taking place in Tashkent’s Olympic City from 12 to 17 April. The competition has brought together 990 athletes from 118 countries.

Medals are being contested across 20 weight categories throughout the tournament.
