Uzbek President expresses condolence to US leader

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov expressed condolence to the President of the United States of America, press-service of the President of Uzbekistan said.

The message said that Islam Karimov has sent a condolence note to President of the United States of America Barack Obama following the large-scale natural disaster in the eastern states of the US that has claimed numerous human lives and wide-ranging devastation.

The death toll from superstorm Sandy neared 100 on Thursday. The damage from storm is estimated between US$20 billion to US$50 billion. Nearly 1 million people are still without electricity.
