Uzbek parliament’s upper house discusses 2008 state budget

Sunatullo Bekenov, Deputy Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan, presented a report on the State Budget 2008. He indicated the main parameters of the State Budget, aspects of the fiscal and budget policy.

The senators considered the report and said that the budget is social oriented and directed to decrease tax burden on economy and increase income of population.

The budget envisages to raise salaries for employees of budget organizations, pensions and allowances in 2008. The budget also allocates funds to implement state programmes on development of public schools, preparation of staff, improvement of medical staff skills and healthcare services, etc.

The participants adopted corresponding decisions on considered issues.
