Uzbekistan Onion Exports Fall 41.2% in Early 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — According to the National Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the country exported 26,200 tonnes of onions to 11 foreign countries in January–April 2026, totaling US$5.8 million.
It was noted that the export volume decreased by 18,400 tonnes, or 41.2%, compared to the same period last year.
The main export destinations were Turkmenistan, Russia, and Iraq. A total of 8,700 tonnes of onions were exported to Turkmenistan, 8,400 tonnes to Russia, and 5,300 tonnes to Iraq.
In addition, shipments were sent to Iran (2,200 tonnes), Kyrgyzstan (1,400 tonnes), and other countries (260.4 tonnes).
Overall, Uzbek onions were exported to 11 foreign countries during the reporting period.
