Uzbek leader sends condolences to Italian President

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has sent his condolences to the President of Italy Giorgio Napolitano in connection with earthquake, which hit north of the country and resulted in human victims and distructions.

The magnitude 6 earthquake hit northern Italy last Sunday, killing seven people and toppling historic churches, castles and clock towers.

According to the reports, over 3,000 people were evacuated from their houses for safety reasons. Some 50 people were also injured.
