Uzbek Government sums up 2009 results

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan held a session on 29 January 2010 to sum up social-economic development of Uzbekistan in 2009. Uzbek President Islam Karimov participated at the meeting.

The growth of the GDP made up 8.1% in 2009, the Uzbek leader said. Industrial output rose by 9% and agriculture production increased by 5.7%, while investments grew by 24.8%.

The growth of retail trade turnover in Uzbekistan made up 16.6% and paid service increased by 12.9%.

The state budget was implemented with 0.2% surplus to GDP and inflation level made up 7.4% in 2009.
