Uzbek envoy presents credentials to Japanese Emperor Akihito

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Japan Hamidulla Karamov handed over his credentials to Japanese Emperor Akihito, Jahon news agency of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting, there was a discussion of the current state of and prospects for bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Japan in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, the agency reported.

Emperor Akihito expressed his interest in further developing and strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the fields of mutual interest.

Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan appointed Karamatov as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan in December 2009. Prior to appointment, Karamatov worked as the first deputy foreign minister of Uzbekistan.
