Russian PM Mikhail Mishustin to Visit Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin will arrive in Uzbekistan on 16 June for a working visit lasting two days, on 16–17 June.
According to the press service of the Russian government, Mishustin is scheduled to hold talks with the leadership of Uzbekistan during the visit.
The sides are expected to discuss current issues of Russia–Uzbekistan cooperation in trade, economic, investment, scientific and technological, and cultural and humanitarian areas.
Special attention will be given to cooperation in the energy sector, including the nuclear industry, as well as in industry, transport, and agriculture.
It is reported that Moscow and Tashkent are implementing several large-scale infrastructure projects, primarily in the energy sector. These include the construction of a nuclear power plant, development of pipeline infrastructure for Russian gas supplies, and plans for electricity deliveries from Russia to Uzbekistan.
Mikhail Mishustin is also expected to take part in the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum. The event, held at the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is among the largest economic platforms in the region and is aimed at presenting the country’s investment potential to the international business community.
The forum brings together government institutions, investors, and multinational companies to discuss and conclude investment agreements.
It is noted that the Russian prime minister maintains regular contact with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and frequently participates in joint events within the Eurasian Economic Union and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
