TLScontact Overhauls France Visa Appointment System in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Official visa operator TLScontact, which processes visa applications for the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan, has announced a sweeping overhaul of its appointment booking rules for applicants.

Starting July 1, 2026, the Tashkent branch of the visa center will launch a completely updated registration system for submitting short-stay entry visa applications. The primary change is the abandonment of the traditional format, in which citizens independently searched for and booked available dates on the online platform.

According to the newly developed regulations, appointment slots at the visa application center will now be distributed automatically as they become available. These strict new rules will exclusively affect applicants seeking short-stay visas under the "Tourism" category, which permit stays in the European state of less than 90 days. For all other entry permit categories, including long-stay and work visas, the previous booking procedure remains unchanged for the time being.

To secure a personalized slot, citizens must complete several consecutive steps. Initially, an applicant must create a personal account on the official TLScontact web resource and enter the complete information from their application form. Once internal validation is complete, the system will send a confirmation message to the user indicating that their application has been successfully validated and placed in a general electronic queue.

Information regarding the specific assigned date and exact time of the visit will be sent to the provided email address. Upon allocation, the applicant is granted a fixed window of exactly 24 hours to pay the mandatory service fee and finalize the booking confirmation.

This emergency measure is being implemented by the visa operator's management to minimize human intervention and guarantee equitable access to state services. The new algorithm is designed to fully protect well-intentioned citizens traveling abroad from the illicit practices of fraudulent entities and expensive, unofficial intermediary agencies.

Previously, the Uzbekistan segment of social media and specialized bloggers recorded a sharp surge in criticism regarding the extreme difficulty of independently finding open slots for French travel and the artificial shortage of available appointments within the system.
