Uzbek Embassy Helps Stranded Citizen Return From Belarus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belarus provided consular assistance to a citizen of the country who was left without financial means following an unsuccessful employment attempt, facilitating his return to his homeland, Dunyo news agency reports.

The Uzbek citizen arrived in Belarus in July for employment. After landing in Minsk, contact with the person who had promised him work ceased. As a result, the man was left without funds to pay for accommodation or a return plane ticket.

He appealed for assistance to the consular section of the Uzbek Embassy. Diplomats prepared the necessary documents and, together with the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, purchased a plane ticket for him using funds from the Migration Fund.

On 24 July, the citizen safely departed for Uzbekistan on a Belavia flight on the Minsk–Tashkent route.
